What bicycle is suitable for your tours?
The perfect bike is the mountain bike. It will be possible to rent or you can use your own. If you use your own bicycle, it is highly recommended to get a complete tune up to have it in top working order before the departure.

What type of roads will we travel on?
The roads are mostly dirt roads or paths in gravel and stone. Some sections will also be on paved road.

What information should I provide to rent a bike?
When you book the tour, you have to fill out the form attached. You will need to provide height, weight, and if you plan to use the sneakers or the technical shoes with quick release cleats.

How long is the tour?
The tour starts in the morning at 8:30 AM from the meeting point and the tour will end in the afternoon around 4:30 PM. We will ride anywhere from 40-50 kilometers a day.

Which documents are required?
The identity card or the passport will be fine.

Which language will be spoken during the tours?
Italian and English language.

Which is the average speed?
The pace will be slow and pleasant. The average speed will be about 8-10 Km/h. There will be time for several stops to observe, watch, take pictures.

How do I get to the meeting point at the beginning of the tour?
The meeting point has to be reached by your own transportation.

What is the role of the guide during the tour?
The guide will always travel with the participants on his own mountain bike. He will provide advice, decide the pace and stops, and provide information on the route and landscape. He will also be there to help fix the bike in case of a puncture or a small mechanical breakdown.

Who can participate?
All people between 16 and 65 years with excellent health. It is a minimum requirement of physical training and skills in riding mountain bikes on bumpy roads.

What is the temperature in Tuscany?
The tours are organized from March to October.
In March, the weather is quite rainy and cold (the average temperatures are about 15-16 ° Celsius). The months of April and October are cool, with occasional rains (the average temperatures are around 21-22 ° Celsius). May and September are the most temperate months with occasional rains (the average temperatures are around 25-26 ° Celsius). June, July, and August are the hottest months with a low probability of rain (the average temperatures are around 32-33 ° Celsius).

What type of clothes do you recommend?
It is recommended to use technical biking or sporty clothing with shorts and short sleeves. Shoes: sneakers or mountain bike shoes. Please do not wear slippers, sandals, boots or heeled shoes. Also pack a waterproof jacket in case of rain and a small backpack for carrying lunch. The helmet is mandatory.

Which rules do I have to follow during the tour?
Each participant has to follow the instructions of the guide. In addition to this, each participant has to respect the rules of the road, even if the roads are mostly away from the traffic.

What is in the packed lunch?
The packed lunch is prepared every morning and it is given to the participant prior to the departure. Generally, it will consist of water, sandwiches, fruit tart, and energy bars.

How and when do I make a payment?
For one day tours the payment is due ​​in Euros cash before the departure.
For the multiple day tours, we request a Euro 300,00 deposit to be wired to our account within 72 hours from the reservation request. The remaining balance must be paid in Euros at your arrival.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel the reservation before 30 days to the start of the trip Tuscany Bike Holidays will refund Euro 150,00. If you cancel within 30 days or less there will be no deposit refunded. In case of a no-show on the first day of the trip there will be no refund for the deposit.

What shall I do if my bike gets a flat tire?
The tour leader will be at your disposal to resolve the problem and repair the wheel.

What happens in case of rain?
The tours will be held rain or shine. However the tour guide will decide to cancel or interrupt the tour in case of increasingly bad weather. We recommend to carry a waterproof jacket with you.
